OPENING of the Leamington Spa Photographic Society's ANNUAL EXHIBITION at the Spa Centre by Councillor George Darmody, Mayor of Royal Leamington Spa, at 7.45pm. (Exhibition on display until Sep 29).
"TWICE AROUND THE WORLD" with Keith Kimber and Tania Brown. Keith and Tania will show us their incredible journey of twice around the globe by motorcycle and sailboat, which took them 16.5 years to complete and took them to 98 countries.
"AFRICAN SAFARI" with Charles Paterson. This talk is largely based on a 25 day visit to South Africa, Namibia & Botswana by a small group led by Charles and his wife Muriel with various national parks and their wildlife illustrated.
"LEAMINGTON SPA 1930 - 1980" by Bill Gibbons. Another in Bill's fascinating series of illustrated talks on the history of Leamington.
FIRST CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Peter Gennard MFIAP EFIAP/p.
"OLD PUB SIGNS" by *Fred Harding. An uncommon sight of a common sight. We will hear tales of trade and travel, heraldry, history and humour.
"CHINA" by Jean Evans LRPS, who will give us a fascinating tour of this diverse country based on her recent trip to China.
MEMBERS EVENING - Series of short lectures by members on their photographic experiences. (This event replaces the Portrait Night previously arranged.)
"LIFE AS A PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER" by Andrew Sheppard the manager of Avon Studios at Wellesbourne who swept the board at the Fujifilm Seven Brides Competition in 2002.
AUCTION with Rex Darby as our long-standing Auctioneer. We have lots of photographic goodies to be auctioned so bring your chequebook or cash.
SECOND CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Dave Johnston FRPS EFIAP/g.
"PHOTOSHOP AND MORE" by Mike Abbott who will show us some of the potential that PhotoShop allows and who will also demonstrate digital graphics as an extension of the digital medium.
"MALTA" by Harold and Hasje Mousley LRPS who will give us an entertaining look at this interesting island.

THIRD CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *John Cartlidge ARPS EFIAP.
"WALKING IN PERU" with Diane Smith who will take us on one of the greatest walks in the world, a circular trek in the Andes. Hand in entries for next week's battle.
BATTLE with Stratford Photographic Society at Stratford (10 prints and 10 slides from each club).
MCPF TRAVELLING PORTFOLIO. Showing a selection of the best work by Midland's photographers.
FOURTH CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Richard Brown FRPS EFIAP. Hand in entries for next week's battle.
BATTLE with Sphinx Photographic Society at Leamington premises. Judge: *Norman Prue FRPS EFIAP (12 prints and 12 slides from each club).
"THE FIRST HUNDRED YEARS" with *Eric Broadbent LRPS who will show us both photos and cameras from the first hundred years of photography. In order for us to see everything it is ESSENTIAL that we have a PROMPT start.
"TRAVELS WITH A MAMIYA AND A STEPLADDER" with *Malcolm Ranieri FRPS MPAGB BPE3*. This talk will illustrate a photographer's view of steam railways, showing steam at work in extreme conditions, spectacular lighting and scenery and will feature explanations of the techniques and kit used.
COMPETITION WITH A THEME with "Constructed Warwickshire" being this year's theme, (the title refers to constructed images of Warwickshire which includes montages, sandwiches, photograms, digital etc). Up to 3 entries, prints, slides or mixed. Judge: *Dave Symonds FRPS EFIAP.
"KENYA" with Gordon Morris who will show us some of the photos that he has taken on his travels around Kenya.
"DOWN UNDER" with Mike Jackson who will show us some of the photos he has taken on his travels in Australasia.
"WALL ON THE WILDSIDE" with *Terry Wall ARPS EFIAP PSA4* who will give us an illustrated talk on a year with a wildlife photographer. Places we visit will include Florida, the UK and Tanzania - Lake Manyara National Park, the plains of the Serengeti and the fabulous Ngorongoro Crater - whilst the wildlife will range from the small to the large.
IT'S A KNOCKOUT COMPETITION. Bring your work on the night, prints and/or slides, see whether you can make it through to the winner's "podium"! Voting will be by all present on the night. Hand in entries for the Annual Exhibition.
DOUG HEPBURN MEMORIAL TROPHY - either 2 prints or 2 slides of NEW work. Judges: *Bruce and Annie MacCormick. Take work on the night.
"THE ALTERNATIVE IMAGE" by *Don Masien DPAGB which is a talk on the interpretation of negatives with a view to providing different images from the normal but by conventional means.

PUBLIC LECTURE at the Spa Centre - "THE ROYAL ROAD OF THE INCAS" by John Pilkington who will take us on an extremely hazardous, eight months long expedition along a 1700 mile ancient track through the Andes; surviving floods, volcanoes, armed vigilantes and a military coup along the way. An enthralling evening, not to be missed.
