OPENING of the Leamington Spa Photographic Society's ANNUAL EXHIBITION at the Spa Centre at 7.45pm. (Exhibition on until Oct 1).
An evening with John Philips, who will show us photos taken on the outdoor activity holidays that he has led or been involved with.
"SOUTH AFRICA & VICTORIA FALLS". A slide show by Charles Paterson. Having livid in South Africa during 1984-89 and 1994-96 Charles is able to show us the results of his extensive travels. The talk covers places such as Cape Town, the Eastern Transvaal, the Kruger National Park and the Victoria Falls area in Zimbabwe.
PORTRAIT NIGHT at Susannas Photographic Studios, 10 Scar Bank, Warwick. Bring your camera and plenty of film.
FIRST CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Malcolm Kus ARPS EFIAP.
"NAMIBIA" by Norman Prue FRPS EFIAP, who will show us the varied topography and wildlife of Namibia. The topography ranges from the flat plains of the Etosha National Park to the sand dunes of Sossnsviei and the rock formations of Damaraland; whilst the wildlife ranges from the Cape Fur seals to the animals of the Etosha National Park.
"SEEING DOUBLE" with *Tony Middleton. There is an increasing dependance on electronics in cameras, which results in a basic lack of knowledge of how to control the camera's functions. Tony will hope to show that by using simple equipment the photographer can regain creative control over their images. Both commissioned and hobby work will be shown together with prints used for two exhibitions.
"TRAVELS WITH A CAMERA" by Andy Bigg. The show is split into two halves, in the first we will see colour slides taken by Andy on his travels, whilst the second half will consist of black and white prints.
SECOND CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: Philip Antrobus FRPS.
"VICTORIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS IN WARWICKSHIRE". A slide lecture by Richard Chamberlaine-Brothers based on work done over the past 20 years to identify professional and amateur photographers who lived and worked in Warwickshire (including Coventry but excluding Birmingham) from 1843 to 1940.
3-WAY BATTLE with The Grange and Badby & District Photographic Societies at Leamington premises (7 slides and 7 prints from each Club). Judge: *Roger Tapp ARPS.
THIRD CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Tony Dudley.
A mystery evening with our own Gayle and Mike.

"CONTINENTAL CYCLING" with our own Reg Elliott. Reg will show us some of the many photos that he has taken on various continental cycling holidays.
"A TOUCH OF NATURE - BRITISH WILDLIFE" with Ian Andrews ARPS. Ian has been photographing Natural History for over 25 years and is an award winner in the BBC/British Gas "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" annual competition.
BATTLE with Stratford Photographic Society at Leamington premises (10 prints and 10 slides from each Club). Judge: *Dave McGuire FRPS.

PUBLIC LECTURE at the Spa Centre with guest speaker Andy Rouse.
MCPF TRAVELLING PORTFOLIO. Showing a selection of the best work by Midlands photographers.
FOURTH CLUBMAN COMPETITION - any subject. Judge: *Peter Jones ARPS.
BATTLE with Sphinx P.S. at Sphinx premises (12 prints and 12 slides from each Club).
"THE 3 T'S - TRAVEL, TAJ AND TIGERS" presented by our own Gordon Morris. Gordon will show us some of the photos that he has taken on his Indian holidays.
3-WAY BATTLE with Dunchurch and Coventry Photographic Societies at Leamington premises. Judge: *Clive Platman ARPS.
COMPETITION WITH A THEME with "Ladies of Leisure" being this year's theme. Up to 3 entries, prints, slides or mixed. Judge: *Frank Millington ARPS EFIAP. Bring entries on the night.
RPS Nature Group slide/tape show.
"AN EVENING WITH GLYN EVANS". Before the break Glyn will show us the home-made approach to "Macro Photography"; afterwards he will give a personal view of the "Scilly Isles".
"NAMIBIA" with *Peter Jones ARPS. Peter will give us a personal record of the landscapes and wildlife of Namibia from the 2 trips he has made taking groups of people out to Namibia.
No meeting - Easter
DOUG HEPBURN MEMORIAL TROPHY - either two prints or two slides of NEW work. Judge: *Aitch Keeling ARPS AFIAP DPAGB. Take work on the night.
"WHAT IS IT?" Another chance to let fellow-members guess “what is it” with plenty of audience participation. Take work on the night, arbitrator will be our Chairman Harold Mousley.
"AUDIO VISUAL" evening with our very own Graham Lowe. Graham will delight us with a new A.V. show that he is producing.
Commentary on the selected prints and slides entered into our ANNUAL EXHIBITION.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - will all members please support this event.
